Terms of Service
1. What you're buying
A single-seat, perpetual licence to use GodotShield Pro on one machine at a time, including all v1.x updates released under the same major version. GodotShield v1.0 is a paid Pro-only product distributed through itch.io; all protected export transforms require a valid licence, machine activation, and export permit.
2. Internet requirement
Protected exports require an internet connection. Each time you run an obfuscated export, the plugin contacts licence.godotshield.dev to verify the licence is still valid for your machine. If the Worker is unreachable or the binding has been revoked, the plugin exports honest plaintext and logs that activation is required; it does not claim protection.
This is a core design decision (ADR-008) and is non-negotiable.
3. Machine migration
You can move a Pro licence to a new machine by emailing support@godotshield.dev from the email you used to purchase. Daniel frees the binding within 24 h (often within an hour during EU business hours). You then activate on the new device as normal.
4. What the licence does NOT grant
- Use on more than one machine simultaneously.
- Redistribution of the plugin, its source, or its Rust binaries.
- Sharing your licence key with third parties. Leaked keys carry a forensic watermark in the obfuscated output that traces back to the original licensee (ADR-005 Layer 5).
- Reverse-engineering the Rust core or the Cloudflare Worker for the purpose of circumventing the verification chain.
5. Refunds
itch.io processes refunds. Contact itch support within 14 days of purchase for a no-questions refund per itch's standard policy.
6. Warranty disclaimer
GodotShield is provided "as is". Obfuscation is not encryption; it raises the cost of reverse-engineering but cannot prevent a sufficiently motivated attacker. Test your exported builds on your target platforms before shipping. We are not liable for downstream breakages caused by obfuscated outputs — every entry point documents known limitations (see plugin docs/reference/LIMITATIONS.md).
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, our aggregate liability under this licence is limited to the purchase price you paid (CHF 25 / USD 25 at the time of writing).
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the courts of Zurich.
